There is a true science behind it. We can all be hypnotised, we go into the hypnotic state numerous times a day or even in the hour. We all loose attention or day dream. That means your brain waves have slowed down and highly suggestible, we are in a hypnotic state. In hypnotherapy we utilise this, relaxing the mind, accessing the subconscious mind, to make powerful changes to your beliefs, patterns and habits.
Hypnosis is a deep relaxation or a trance like state or condition where the client is focused on the therapist's voice and the therapist is able to suggest ideas and concepts to the patient. This practice promotes healing, reprograms patterns of behaviour in the mind, rationalises irrational fears, fears, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions.
In hypnosis the patient has access to the sub conscious mind which is 90% of our mind (right brain), when the conscious mind is extremely relaxed or suppressed (left brain). So Left Brain OFF, Right Brain ON.
The patient is put in a meditative state or relaxed state, by guiding them into trance. This gives access to the subconscious mind where our long term memories are, our emotions and behavioural patterns, relationship patterns, addictions and intuition. Appropriate suggestions are made my the therapist in order to heal an emotion or reprograms patterns of thought, beliefs and therefore behaviour. This enables irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome.
